grader in the house

Anden is officially a 'grader' now (as opposed to being a kindergardener). He is in Mrs. Brehm's class and loving it. Mrs. Brehm was one of the kindergarden teachers last year and we were a little worried about him being in a class with someone who knew him (yes, Anden was quite capable of getting into trouble last year). Alas, our worries were unfounded. He is doing great and we couldn't be happier. Best thing about first grade? The kids actually go to the other teachers for different subjects (one teacher is over social studies, one is over science and reading, and the third is over math). It's like being in middle school (without all of the middle school angst and drama). He gets the biggest kick out of sitting in other students' seats and getting to know the other teachers and kids. According to Anden, first grade is so cool. Oh, and it helps that his class has a pet guinea pig.

Anden is going to be 7 years old in a few months and getting more mature and full of personality every day. He loves to read and play with Legos. He and Mckay are very into everything Harry Potter (going to be Harry for Halloween), Star Wars, and Legos. Favorite website is www.coolmath.com (loves the games) and is finally willing to practice riding his bike without the training wheels (he's been a bit stubborn about learning in the past). He's a great older brother and help to his parents.

Here is the poster we made for when he was the star of the week.
