new ride

Anden finally got a bike (with training wheels)! We've been searching on Craigslist for a while now and found an awesome deal on a Redline BMX racing bike. We've learned that BMX racing bikes are a ton lighter (in weight) than most kids' bikes and, therefore, supposedly easier to learn how to ride. Since there was no possible way we were going to pay full price for a decent bike from an actual bike store (he's only 4!), we've been waiting for deals on Ebay or Craigslist. Unfortunately, deals are snatched up instantly...and we were lucky enough to find one last weekend that was still available.

The bike had been used by a 16 yr old (yes, teenagers ride 16" bikes at BMX races) and is in great condition. We had our local bike shop retrofit some training wheels and we're ordering new handle grips for it. Anden is in HEAVEN (he can't wait to go mountain biking with Raegan), and so is Mckay--he is now the proud owner of one snazzy tricycle!

Here is a picture of the two happy boys (not too happy about the sun shining in their eyes, though).

Finley is happy as long as she gets to push her babies around on the bikes.

Fancy bikes for a 4 year old! WalMart's selection isn't good enough for real bikers, eh?! :) The kids LOVED looking at these pictures. We all miss the Watchmans tons.
